Position Overview


The Trade Executive — Destinations will be the day-to-day point of contact for a portfolio of international and national destination clients in the Brazilian travel trade, ensuring strong engagement with the travel trade and leading the coordination and execution of trade marketing activities and events from planning through to execution. The position also carries responsibility for developing strategic action plans per destination client and managing the associated budgets, requiring a mix of commercial instinct, market knowledge, financial accountability, and strong organizational skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain annual strategic action plans for each destination client, setting clear trade objectives, activity calendars, and measurable outcomes aligned with client goals
  • Manage allocated trade marketing budgets across the client portfolio, tracking spends, reconciling expenses, and reporting on budget performance to both internal and client stakeholders
  • Support destination marketing initiatives for tourism clients and partners
  • Represent a portfolio of international and national destination clients across the Brazilian travel trade
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders in the tourism trade, ensuring consistent follow-up
  • Develop and maintain productive relationships with travel agents, tour operators, OTAs, and wholesalers in Brazil
  • Identify new trade partners and distribution opportunities to grow client market share
  • Conduct regular trade calls, in-person visits, roadshows, and training sessions to educate the trade on client destinations
  • Plan and execute trade events, workshops, roadshows, sales missions, and familiarization (FAM) trips in collaboration with clients
  • Provide full operational and strategic support for trade marketing events and activations
  • Manage event planning end-to-end, including briefing, quotation, logistics coordination, invitations, participant confirmation, and on-site support
  • Deliver post-event reporting, insights, and performance evaluation
  • Monitor booking trends, competitor activity, and market conditions and translate findings into actionable client reports
  • Consolidate and analyze information from social media and digital platforms
  • Prepare monthly trade and market performance reports
  • Manage trade databases, CRM records, and partner communications with accuracy and consistency

Key Skills & Qualifications

  • University degree, preferably in Tourism, Marketing, Business Administration, or related fields
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in travel trade, destination representation, or trade marketing
  • Strong knowledge of the Brazilian travel market, including industry trends and consumer behavior
  • Established network within the Brazilian travel trade
  • Strong presentation and training skills
  • Fluency in English is mandatory - Knowledge of Spanish is desirable
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Experience with CRM tools
  • Experience developing strategic plans and managing budgets
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple clients and priorities simultaneously
  • Proactive, highly motivated, results-driven team player with the ability to engage across multicultural environments and different seniority levels
  • Willingness to travel within Brazil and internationally for events and FAM trips
