Visit Florida, the state's official tourism marketing corporation, appointed AVIAREPS as representation agency in seven countries in Latin America: Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Mexico and Peru. AVIAREPS, the global leader in tourism, aviation and hospitality representation with 63 offices in 57 countries around the world, will provide Visit Florida with a full range of trade and PR services to promote the Sunshine State located in the Southeastern region of the United States. AVIAREPS has already represented Visit Florida in Brazil and Mexico since 2016. By adding Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, Visit Florida has now expanded the partnership with AVIAREPS to a total of seven markets on the Latin American continent.
Latin America continues to be an important investment for Visit Florida as these seven Latin American countries ranked in the top 11 spots, according to 2021 international visitation estimates. In 2021, Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis prioritized tourism as the foundation of the state’s economic recovery from Covid-19. He focused on keeping Florida open for business and ready for all visitors to be able to enjoy the many attractions throughout the state. Florida being open and able to welcome visitors enabled Visit Florida to capitalize on the pent-up demand in travel and establish Florida as a leader in the U.S. tourism sector. In Q3 2021, Florida welcomed a total of 32.5 million travelers to the state, marking the first time overall visitation has exceeded pre-pandemic levels.
