Job Title: Sales Manager – China Airlines

Reports To: Head of Aviation

Salary: Up to £42,000 per annum

Location: London - Old Street/Moorgate

 

Role Overview:

  • Represent China Airlines professionally to travel trade partners and commercial companies.
  • Boost revenue and market share for the airline's routes.
  • Manage existing accounts and acquire new ones.
  • Increase brand awareness among trade and public sectors.
  • Achieve annual targets.
  • Collaborate effectively with the China Airlines Country Manager.
  • Lead and motivate a small Reservations/Sales team.

 

 Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive revenue growth and expand market share.
  • Maintain regular contact with trade partners and commercial companies.
  • Visit agents to provide product information and staff training.
  • Analyze revenue data and generate statistical reports.
  • Identify new revenue opportunities in the UK travel trade.
  • Recommend commercial terms and fare structures to secure new business.
  • Report on market conditions and prepare sales activity reports.
  • Represent the airline at trade shows and exhibitions.
  • Engage in Corporate Working Group functions and meetings as needed.
  • Serve as the key liaison between China Airlines and Aviareps.
  • Conduct pricing and fare analysis for the UK market.
  • Monitor competitor activity and provide feedback to China Airlines and the Head of Sales.
  • Support marketing and sales functions as required.

 

Core Skills Required:

Education:

  • A-levels or equivalent.
  • Strong written and spoken English.
  • Good numeric and Excel skills.

 

Experience:

  • At least 5 years in a senior sales role.
  • Experience in travel industry account management.
  • Familiarity with airline GDS, distribution channels, and fare structures.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Knowledge of airline procedures, fare rules, and ticketing.
  • Negotiation and presentation skills.
  • Experience with MIDT, E-Smash, BSP, and changing distribution systems.
  • Understanding of Revenue Management and Dashboard reports.

 

Personal Qualities:

  • Self-motivated and able to work under pressure.
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
  • Team-oriented with the ability to work with AVIAREPS Management.
  • Strong communication skills with all levels, including China Airlines HQ.
  • Detail-oriented and flexible.

  • 21 days of holiday plus 8 bank holidays annually; additional days after 2 years, increasing by one day per year, capped at 25 days.
