Head of Aviation

Objective

 

  • A broad role covering the full range of tasks within the Aviation team. The job requires a strong and well-rounded individual with excellent aviation experience and a keen commercial awareness to work well with other team members and all other departments and their managers.
  • Pro-actively contribute to the overall Company’s’ revenue achievement, determine key priorities and manage workload.
  • Manage, guide and support the sales, marketing & reservations team to maximise effectiveness and deliverables.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Effectively represent all products and services that our Airline clients have to offer and think outside the box to help find the right solutions according to their business objectives.
  • Monitor performance and proactively provide clients with recommendations to optimize results based on their goals and targets
  • Act as a mentor to the team by demonstrating and communicating initiatives, approaches, successes and lessons learned
  • Understand client overall performance and strategy to facilitate future budgeting of anticipated revenues
  • Manage the day-to-day sales & marketing plans to increase brand awareness and optimise performance.
  • Maximizing company’s and client’s target by planning and implementing sales & marketing strategies.
  • Preparing sales proposal and reports; maintaining contact profiles to ensure accurate and timely information for all existing and target accounts.
  • Servicing inquiries and maintaining good working relations with travel agencies, airlines and other service suppliers which may include hotels, tour operators, tourism attractions, cruise operators and other related services.
  • Carrying out market intelligence to evaluate market potential for clients and to monitor changes.
  • Understanding the market for leisure travel, meetings, incentive travel, and convention and exhibition business.
  • Represent client(s) to participate in trade/road shows and sales missions.
  • Support in administrative and general tasks assigned from time to time.

 

Key Skills and Experience

 

  • A motivated, target orientated individual with the ability to pro-actively contribute to Company revenue achievement, determine key priorities and manage their workload, meet deadlines within agreed timescales.
  • Ability to multi-task and perform effectively in a cross-functional & cultural team environment.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and negotiation skills to establish, develop and maintain existing and prospective clients.
  • Business acumen, commercial insight & the ability to determine the value of existing and prospective clients, with a minimum five years track record in the travel industry.
  • Strong numerical and analytical abilities are essential. The ability to interpret figures and market trends, in addition to knowledge of pricing and dealing with distribution issues across the market.
  • The ability to think strategically, understand and work well within head office guidelines, negotiate and manage commercial agreements.
  • Excellent level of English, able to communicate convincingly verbally and in writing, with strong presentation skills to represent the company at external meetings and events.
  • As this is a senior level account management role, candidates are empowered and should be proactive and be able to work on their own initiative.
  • Ability to identify, communicate, and connect with key decision makers
  • Ability to lead and direct multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously
  • Degree level education preferred & clean Driving License
  • Must hold valid visa to reside and work in the UK.
