Scoot appoints AVIAREPS as general sales agent (GSA) in Germany

29 March 2018

AVIAREPS has been appointed by Scoot, the low-cost arm of the Singapore Airlines Group, as General Sales Agent (GSA) for the airline in Germany.

The announcement, which came into effect on March 01, 2018, sees AVIAREPS as airlines general sales agent responsible for the airline’s sales promotions, marketing and public relations activities, as well as direct ticket sales within Germany.

Scoot currently flies between Singapore and 62 other destinations across 16 countries and territories, including Australia, Asia, Greece in Europe and Hawaii in the U.S.A.

The announcement of the German General sales agent (GSA) representation is timely with Scoot launching its second European destination, Berlin in Germany, from June 20, 2018, with non-stop 4-times weekly flight services.

Says Vinod Kannan, Chief Commercial Officer, Scoot:
“Traditionally, low-cost carriers have focused on point-to-point traffic and short-to-medium-haul routes. As travellers aspire to travel further, and as air fares globally become more competitive, low-cost long-haul travel naturally becomes the next stage of evolution in the low-cost carrier business model. With this market strategy, Scoot is set to become an industry game-changer with our growing long-haul network. We look forward to working with global general sales agent for airlines- AVIAREPS to offer German guests a means to escape the ordinary and satisfy their wanderlust with our vast Asia and Australian network.”

Scoot has an extensive network across Asia and Australia, in addition to its Singapore base, which will provide a wide range of exciting destinations for travellers from Germany, including beach destinations such as Bali in Indonesia, Boracay (Kalibo) in the Philippines, and Langkawi in Malaysia, as well as the well-known Australian cities of Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth and Sydney.

Scoot operates a fleet of 16 widebody Boeing 787 Dreamliners and 24 narrow-body Airbus A320 aircraft. A 787 Dreamliner will be operated on the Singapore-Berlin service with the following schedules:

Connection Week Days Departure Arrival
TR735

Berlin TXL - Singapore Changi
Mon., Wed., Fri., Sun. 09:40 AM 03:45 AM (+1)
TR734

Singapore Changi - Berlin TXL
Mon., Wed., Fri., Sun. 00:25 AM 07:20 AM

Unlike typical European low-cost carriers, Scoot’s 787 Dreamliner fleet offers guests a travel experience similar to full-service carriers but at exceptional low-cost carrier value, while lowering business costs with 20% better fuel efficiency. The widebody 787 Dreamliner is spacious and quieter, with increased cabin moisture and fresher air quality, and it has allowed Scoot to differentiate and elevate the low-cost carrier experience for its guests. The average age of Scoot’s 787 Dreamliner aircraft is 2 years.

Scoot empowers guests to tailor their travel choices by offering a wide range of add-on products and services, many of which are unique for low-cost carriers including:

ScootBiz – Available only on Scoot’s 787s Dreamliners, offers full leather seats with at least 38" (96cm) seat pitch, 22" (56cm) width, 8" (20cm) recline and fully adjustable headrests, as well as 30kg check-in baggage allowance, a premium hot meal, revamped ScooTV inflight entertainment streamed to your own device, in-seat power, and other privileges.
Scoot-in-Silence – Available only on Scoot’s 787s Dreamliners, offers a child-free cabin with all seats fitted with four-way adjustable head-rests that allow guests a much more comfortable journey.
Scoot’s 787s Dreamliner flights also offer inflight Wi-Fi connectivity and streaming inflight entertainment also known as ScooTV, as well as in-seat power for charging personal devices.

Says Kannan:
“Scoot brands itself as an airline for the young-at-heart, those in search of a memorable travel experience at great value, and people who remember that travel is all about spontaneous discovery, connections and fresh, authentic experiences. By partnering with AVIAREPS we aim to become the low-cost long-haul carrier of choice for German travellers.”
