India, officially the Republic of India (Hindi: भारत Bhārat) is ranked number two in regard to its population of over 1 billion inhabitants. The average annual GDP growth rate of 5.7% for the past two decades made India to one of the fastest growing economies in the world and resulted in a steadily growing middle class of over 350 million members, more than the population of the US.
Last years figures recorded 9.5 million Indians travelling abroad. The total number of outbound travellers is set to double till 2015. Forecasts show that outgoing tourism expenditure from India will reach a value of USD 21 billion within the next years. The Indian aviation sector is growing with more than 30% per year and is expected to be the number one aviation market in the world by 2025 surpassing both the US and China.
